Harvest Festival
Harvest Festival was celebrated by pupils, staff and parents from Transition to Lower III yesterday. Pupils recited poems and sang Harvest songs beautifully. Our visitor, Reverend Emma Holton, gave a thought provoking sermon about how we help each other and thanked everyone for their generous donations for the Black Country Foodbank and Walsall Foodbank. Finally, Mr Draper revealed the winning name for the EYFS scarecrow-Mr Strawbelly-won by Roshan in Nursery. Thanks to his sisters Shaan and Asees for revealing the name!
Disability Workshop
Pupils in Form I, Lower II, Form II and Upper II were given a disability workshop by Safia, who demonstrated to them how disabled people in a wheelchair can live a normal life when given accessibility. She talked about her wheelchair and showed them her accessible car. Pupils had lots of questions for her about how she coped with everyday activities such as shopping, showering and moving around. Pupils were able to note where in school was accessible due to ramps and wheelchair access and where was not such as the top floors. Thank you to Safia for an informative lesson and well done to the pupils for their thoughtful questions and comments.

Well done to Form II on a fabulous assembly on A.A Milne's 100 year anniversary of Winnie the Pooh. The children spoke eloquently about his achievements over the years and the fantastic stories he wrote. We all enjoyed reminiscing about our favourite characters from our childhoods.
Lower III Sewing
Lower III have started their Design Technology project-making a felt keyring. This week, they practised different sewing stitches. They tried a running stitch an over stitch and a blanket stitch using scraps of felt and thread.

Birmingham Children's Hospital
Dale from Birmingham Children's Hospital visited school to congratulate and thank Eva for her fundraising efforts in the summer. She took part in a triathlon and raised over £2000! She was presented with a medal and certificate and a giant cheque!
Dale spoke about the hospital and where the funds will be spent. Well done, Eva and we hope to organise more fundraising events for the hospital in the future.
Transition French
Transition learnt about the French flag and coloured it in with red, white and blue. They learnt the name for the flag was the 'tricolour' and waved it saying' Vive La France'.
Form I Art
Form I have been learning about the colour wheel and Pointillism. Using the primary colours they filled in the colour wheel, then made secondary colours. The cotton bud produced a dot shape similar to the dots George Seurat used in his art work. Finally, we mixed all the colours together to make a brown.
