Welcome to Nursery
Where Play Becomes Learning
Play is at the heart of our curriculum. Carefully planned continuous provision encourages creativity, curiosity, independence and problem solving, ensuring that play is purposeful and rich in learning opportunities. Our broad and balanced curriculum supports all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage and includes weekly Forest School sessions, creative arts, music and singing lessons with the school’s Musical Director and physical education in the Hall of the Olympians.

At Mayfield, our children benefit from small class sizes and low staff-to-child ratios, allowing us to respond effectively to each child’s individual needs. Teaching takes place in small groups, enabling focused support and high quality interaction. Daily phonics sessions are delivered using the Read Write Inc. scheme, and early mathematical concepts are introduced through structured teaching and guided group work.
